Library Hero The McCord
Library Hero Award seeks to recognize efforts of an
individual or a group related either to a specific
legislative effort or piece of proposed library-related
legislation during a specific Texas State Legislative
Session or to recognize ongoing, sustained efforts that
when taken in their entirety presents high levels of
dedication to the legislative programs of the Texas
Library Association.
McCord Library Hero Award Presented to Susan Mann - July 10, 2014 ![]() (Susan Mann and Gretchen McCord DeFlorio) The fourth S. Joe McCord Library Hero Award was presented to Susan Mann at the Texas Library Association's Annual Assembly on July 10, 2014. Susan is a long-time library advocate, director of the Hillsboro City Library, former chair of the Texas Library Association Legislative Committee, and currently is president elect of TLA.
